Review of the DaVinci Emily II Coil Mattress

!±8± Review of the DaVinci Emily II Coil Mattress

The DaVinci Emily II Coil Mattress is a crib mattress with 242 coils. It has nine inch border wire on the infant side for extra firm support. The product is a 2-in-1 in that one side of the mattress is for an infant; it is firmer with strong support. The other side is for a toddler; it is less firm.

The DaVinci features non-toxic, reinforced triple laminate cover for tear and water resistance. The dimensions of the mattress are 52" L x27.5" W x 6" H.

I purchased this product as a replacement of an older 2-in-1 Sealy mattress that my toddler had been using. This product is not as heavy as the Sealy mattress, and is actually somewhat softer and cushier. The amount of springiness or bounce is about the same for the DaVinci as with the Sealy mattress.

One thing I wish I'd looked into is whether the DaVinci has a side handle that can be used to make lifting the mattress in and out of the crib easier and faster when changing the sheet. This particular model does not have such a side handle, but it is still fairly easy to deal with.

I like that there was virtually no off gassing with this bed. Off gassing is a chemical like odor that mattresses of virtually all types can give off for a limited time when they are new.

My child seems to sleep well on the DaVinci and it has held up reasonably well. In other words, I have not noticed much if any sagging or body impressions.
